Chairman’s statement

Dear Readers,

Shaping sustainable change and creating a truly circular economy is best done as part of a team. Together with our fantastic team, future-focused customers and dedicated partners, we made great progress in driving the circular transformation in Europe in 2023 and 2024. We have also continued to evolve and position ourselves internationally as a Group, enabling us to collaborate even more effectively across borders and business units. More than ever, Interzero is synonymous with successful “zero waste solutions” – creating sustainable value that support climate action and protect resources and shaping a world without waste. 

As Europe’s leading circular economy service provider, we believe we have a special responsibility to help move society towards greater sustainability – and to do this as transparently as possible. We have already been voluntarily disclosing our social and environmental performance in regular Sustainability Reports since 2012. Our latest Sustainability Statement for 2023 and 2024 marks another major stride forward and brings us into line with the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) for the first time. In accordance with these European standards, you will find comprehensive information on all of Interzero's material environmental, social and governance topics over the following chapters. Find out what responsible corporate governance means for Interzero, how our integrated circular, recycling and consultancy solutions help fight climate change and protect resources – and the steps we are taking to create a healthy working environment for our employees. 

As demonstrated by our motto: “We get better every day”, striving for improvement is an integral part of our Interzero Values. It is in this spirit that we also want to continue working with you and establish the circular economy as a sustainable and competitive model for success. The “Game Changers” section of our Sustainability Magazine provides an insight into our latest projects, as we present the people, ideas and technology that are changing roles and opening up new possibilities for a responsible circular economy.
